How to prep your skin for a facial
May 28, 2026 · 3 min read
A facial does a lot on its own, but a little preparation helps it work even better. Here's how to get your skin ready.
Don't over-exfoliate the days before
It's tempting to "deep clean" beforehand, but exfoliating too much can leave your skin sensitive. Let your esthetician handle that during the treatment.
Come with clean, bare skin if you can
If possible, arrive without heavy makeup. It saves time and lets us assess your skin honestly from the start.
Hydrate — inside and out
Well-hydrated skin responds better. Drink water and keep your usual moisturizer going in the days before.
Tell us what's going on
Breakouts, sensitivity, a new product, an event coming up — the more we know, the more we can tailor the session to you.
Plan a calm day around it
A facial is also a pause. If you can, leave a little space afterwards to enjoy the calm instead of rushing back into the day.
Great skin isn't about doing more — it's about doing the right things, consistently.
